Golden Milk
My husband suffers from chronic back pain, so I try to make sure he gets a cup of Golden milk before bed each night. Golden Milk is a potent boost for the immune system, full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories. It also tastes good and is the perfect warm drink for the winter months. Best consumed on an empty stomach as it's more easily absorbed by the body to work it's magic.

Curcumin is a powerful anti-inflammatory found in Turmeric(the main ingredient). It has the ability to destroy cancer cells by promoting healthy cell function, however, it is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. Combining it with black pepper however, enhances it's absorption by 2000%.
Coconut milk fat contains 50 percent lauric acid, which your liver can convert into energy rather than being stored as fat(promoting weight loss, improving insulin sensitivity and glucose tolerance).
Ginger is a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory. It helps with muscle pain & soreness after exercise. Ingredients(2-3 Servings)
1 tsp Turmeric Powder or 1/4 inch fresh(sliced)
1 Cup Organic Coconut milk(or other nut milk)
1 1/2 cups filtered water
1/4 tsp Ceylon Cinnamon(this is the healthy kind)
1/4 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp ginger(juiced) or 1/4 inch sliced
1 tsp Organic Maple syrup
Directions
Combine all ingredients in to a blender on highest speed until smooth.
Transfer to saucepan, bring to a boil and simmer for 5 mins
Strain in to a cup and enjoy
1 week supply to keep in the fridge:
Combine the blended Turmeric, coconut milk, maple syrup and ginger(7 X the listed ingredients)
Boil and the simmer uncovered for 15 mins. Stir often until you get a paste.
Store in a glass Jar.
Use 2 tbsp and combine with 1 cup of hot water, then sprinkle w/cinnamon and black pepper
